Mae govannen, honoured reader!
Being a Fae implies more than merely being able to fly. And needless to say, it isn’t about running around dressed in vineleaves either. After all, we did agree on a dresscode in Avilion – the basics of that dresscode for the Fae being that the larger the Fae (or better said: the more pronounced her bodily features), the more she has to cover. Thank you for keeping that in mind. It will really help you to get invited to the Fae group.
That being said, the rest of this parchment is meant to shed some light on our nature. For taking the time to read it, diola lle!

THE FAE OF AVILION
When the mountains and forests woke up, the Fae were there to welcome and caress them. Dancing they were in the moonlight, the Fae, dreaming their timeless dreams of Air, Earth, Fire and Water. Joy and beauty filled the land as they sang, and the mountains and forests smiled at the sight of the Fae.
Then, one day, the Humans came. But they did not smile and were too much in a hurry to hear the songs of welcome, or feel the caresses, or see the dance. At first, the Fae merely were surprised by this. But later, as they saw how swiftly the Humans came into the world and passed away again, they felt sorrow for them. For this would most surely be the reason of their hurriedness, and why they could not hear the songs or feel the caress of the Air, Earth, Fire and Water.
The Fae then decided to help them: once in every nine Human years, a newly born Human would be invited into their life and a Fae would take its place. Thus, the Human child would learn the ways of old and how to keep them in his heart, and the Fae would spread the fair winds in the lands of the Humans. And peace would be in their lives.
But alas! The Humans were too hurried to take the time to try and understand and started fearing the Fae instead. They even persecuted the folk amongst them that did hear the Fae and their timeless songs, more often than not burning them at the stake. So, as the number of Humans grew, the Fae retreated in the forests and hidden valleys. But they still kept on trying to soothe the troubled Human soul by sharing their short lifespan, for although they did not understand them, they had taken up a liking for the greater part of them.
Many moons have passed since those days and the Humans have now covered the face of the Earth with their offspring and their ironclad constructions. And the Fae that chose not to walk amongst the Humans, have retreated even further, to the isle that time forgot, hidden as it was in the Mist.
There they dwell now, and dance, and sing, and caress, and have prepared a warm welcome for all that have found the way back home. Be they of their own kin, or from any other Race that inhabits the Earth.
